Sweetpea Timeline
1989
Neale and Jude McKinstry entered the toy industry with the purchase of The House Of Toys, an educational retail store based in Devonport (Auckland) NZ.
1990
Established Impact Learning. A wholesaler and distributor of educational toys and games.
1991
Attended first international Toy Fair and started working with Sweetpea.
1994
Purchased Sweetpea Marketing Ltd and incorporated Impact Learning. Sweetpea moved from the family garage and lounge to its first-ever warehouse in Devonport.
1995
First container for Sweetpea, was a container of Rummikub.
1996
Traveling to Canada to check out a Toy Fair and what is happening in other markets around the world
1997
Sweetpea sent our first New Zealand competitor to the World Rummikub Champs and placed 3rd in the World.
2003
At the 5th World Rummikub Champs, our New Zealand champion came 2nd in the world.
2004
The first major USA agency that Sweetpea distributed ALEX Toys.
2005
Become the New Zealand distributor for Crocodile Creek
2010
Moved to new larger warehouse premises.
2014
Ending another successful year with an amazing team at a Christmas staff lunch.
2016
The sales team having fun at our customer Paper Plus trade show.
2017
Travelled to Italy and visited the Androni Factory
2019
Sweetpea purchased the Tri-ang brand
2019
Sweepeas brand portfolio continued to grow as they became the New Zealand distributor for Hape Toys.
2020
With the challenges of COVID and not having any local trade shows, Sweetpea started our own roadshow. Travelling around New Zealand showing our customers the new products available.
2021
While 2021 was riddled with Covid-19 Lockdowns, Sweetpea still continued to grow with the introduction of the beautiful and sustainable brand, eeBoo.
2022
With the continued growth over the past years, it was time to move warehouses. To also help streamline and improve dispatch times.
